In-Office Procedures

We are now offering the following procedures in office. Most are covered by insurance but are available for a fee if not covered by insurance.
TRIGGER POINT INJECTIONS

A trigger point injection is a procedure used to treat painful areas of muscle that contain trigger points, or knots of muscle that form when muscles do not relax. Many times these knots can be felt under the skin. The procedure only takes just a few minutes to perform and some patients experience immediate relief! This is a great alternative if more conservative treatment is not alleviating your pain!

ABSCESS, SPIDER BITE, MRSA

An abscess can be very painful and lead to a worsening infection if left untreated. If present, you may need a procedure to open the area that will allow it to drain. This is called an incision and drainage (I&D). A local anesthetic is injected prior to making the incision to minimize discomfort. Once the area has drained, the wound may be packed with gauze.

JOINT INJECTIONS

Joint injections are used to deliver steroids directly to the joint, such as a knee, ankle or wrist. Steroid joint injections can help with pain and swelling by treating the underlying joint inflammation - improvement is often FAST and can last up to several months !

INGROWN NAIL REMOVAL/EXCISION

Ingrown nails can be painful, especially when walking. If left untreated, the area can worsen and become infected. If you have soaked in warm water and tried other remedies without relief, the nail may need to be partially or completely removed.

CERUMEN (EAR WAX) REMOVAL

Over-the-counter Debrox (or generic) is usually helpful for earwax build-up but sometimes it is not enough.  If you are having fullness, decreased hearing or pain, you may have excessive wax build-up that needs to be removed. We can take care of this in the office!

SKIN TAG REMOVAL

Acrochordons, commonly known as skin tags, are an outgrowth of normal skin. Treatment is indicated if lesions are irritating or the patient desires removal for cosmetic reasons.
